Privacy policy

At GolfFriends we take your privacy seriously. This policy describes what personal data we collect, why we collect it, and the rights you have. The data controller is GolfFriends, golffriends.dk.
What data we collect
When you create a profile we process your name, email address and the profile details you provide — such as handicap, home course, date of birth, playing style and profile photo. If you use the "ready to play now" feature, we process your approximate location until the status expires. Scorecard photos are processed temporarily for automatic reading.
How we use your data
The data is used to deliver the service: matching you with other players, showing your profile to other users, running tournaments, sending notifications you have requested, and calculating your statistics. We never sell your data, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.
Legal basis
Processing is based on our agreement with you (GDPR art. 6(1)(b)) and in some cases your consent (art. 6(1)(a)), for example location sharing. You can withdraw consent at any time in the app.
Processors and third parties
We use selected processors to run the service: hosting in the EU, Firebase (Google) for push notifications, Pusher for real-time messages, and Anthropic for AI reading of scorecard photos. All are bound by data processing agreements, and photos are never shared with other users.
Retention and deletion
We keep your data for as long as you have a profile. If you delete your profile, your personal data is removed within 30 days. Location data from "ready now" is deleted automatically when the status expires.
Your rights
You have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction and data portability, and the right to lodge a complaint with the Danish Data Protection Agency. Contact us at hej@golffriends.dk and we will help you.
